Biography
Mr. Roberts joined the firm in 2004 and was named a partner in 2009. Over that time, Michael’s practice has focused almost exclusively on representing people who have been injured by the negligence of others. These cases have dealt with virtually the entire field of personal injury, including automobile collisions, motorcycle crashes, the negligent security of businesses or apartment complexes, serious falls occurring on business or residential properties and injuries arising out of defective products. The nature of the injuries handled by Mr. Roberts are just as varied as the types of cases. Michael understands that each injury is unique and may affect his client in unique ways. From orthopedic joint injuries, to back and neck problems, to spinal cord injuries with paralysis or quadriplegia, to the worst cases of death, Mr. Roberts treats each case as an opportunity to change his client’s life for the better. A native of Moultrie, Ga., Michael moved to Jacksonville in 1990. After graduating from The Bolles School, Michael attended Appalachian State University, in Boone N.C., where he earned his degree in 2000. Following his time at App State, Michael studied at the University of St. Andrews (Scotland) where he earned a post graduate diploma in Greek, Latin and Ancient History (2001). In 2004, Michael earned his J.D. from Villanova University School of Law, in Philadelphia, Pa. and was admitted into the Florida Bar the same year. During law school Mr. Roberts worked for U.S. Senator Bill Nelson (Florida) and The Honorable Charles Weiner, U.S District Judge, Eastern District of Pennsylvania. In his spare time, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife Morgan and their children. On fall weekends, you will likely find them all tailgating in Boone. Go Apps! During basketball season, he’s cheering on his Villanova Wildcats to make another great Tournament run.
